My Boys! (Apr '09)

We had a lot of nice days in April and were able to spend some time playing outside.

Isaac loves his tractor. He likes to coast across our cul-de-sac on it and push it just about everywhere.

Gabe was having fun showing Isaac how to play basketball.

No More Training Wheels! (Apr 6, 2009)

I am here to say that by the time a kid is 6 1/2 they inherently know how to ride a bike! We tried to persuade Hannah to learn to ride on two wheels last year, but she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it! She either rode her small bike with training wheels or raced around on her scooter.

So, when she announced that she was ready I was thrilled! Daddy was actually not even home yet, but I did not want to miss the "window of willingness" (we told her we would not get her a new big bike until she rode with only two wheels). So I got the tools out and off came the training wheels......

and TA...DA!! Our Miss Hannah was off and riding her bike on two wheels, with very little help from Mom. We are so proud of her!

Happy Birthday to my Noah...

Today would be Noah's 3rd birthday. There is still so much sadness for me surrounding his time here with us, but I KNOW that he was meant to come to our family. I am privileged to be his mother and I pray that I am worthy to raise him in the eternities. He has made me better. I am thankful to Heavenly Father for trusting him with me and allowing me to love him, to serve him, to care for him, to make choices for him, to cradle him, to sacrifice for him. I am thankful for him. I am thankful for the sweet memories that I do have; rocking him for hours just feeling him close to me, his sweet smell before and during his hospital stay (they're different, but both his), bathing him, reading to him, singing hymns to him with my husband. I love him and miss him so much.

Happy Birthday my sweet baby

I made this "Flower Cake" for his grave. I got the idea from another angel mom. It helped me get through this past week, because I had something "to do" for him.

Spring Break and the ZOO!

just monkeying around :)

The first day of the kids' Spring Break was gorgeous, so we decided to take a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. Jared had to work so it was just me and the kids. We had the BEST time! Isaac did not like the gorillas at all. One was sitting right up against the glass and it totally freaked him out!!

just a cute video of Isaac :)

Hannah gets a NEW ROOM!

My friend Jenny came over during her kids' Spring Break and helped me finally finish decorating Hannah's room. We made the flower covered pots on her dresser (thanks for the idea Krystal), painted a bunch of "H"s to put around her room, put up two white shelves with some cute pictures of my Hannah over the years, a fun way for her to display her artwork hanging from ribbon, and adding more shelves in her closet for organizing. She also got some a new bed, dresser and bedding.... yes, I know SPOILED!!! Well, more like Mom is spoiled. :)

Hannah LOVES it as well!!!

Saturday Mornings and BOYS!

So I am still way behind in my posts, but this was just too cute/funny not to share.

So Saturday mornings usually find all of us hanging out in our king size bed, getting some morning snuggles and finding the "umph" to get the day going. This morning it started with Jared and me getting in one last snuggle and wishing we could go back to sleep. Then in comes Gabe who is bored playing in his room and dying for others to wake up. We "try" to persuade him to go and play "quietly" while everyone still sleeps, but he hears the sweet chirpings of Isaac and happily retrieves him.

The boys come bounding in, so happy to be awake and tumble in on our bed. Isaac crawls around and one by one gives everyone a big, wet, toothy kiss Gabe sits patiently while Isaac says "Eyes" and jabs his little toddler fingers into each eye, then laughs while he puts those once clean little fingers into each nostril showing that he knows where Gabe's nose is. Next, Gabe goes into a lengthy demonstration of how to arm fart and to mouth "pop" with your thumb. Isaac was captivated and Mom learned a few things. :)

And where is Hannah you ask? ...... still sleeping away.

Time Out For Women (Mar 13-14)

Jaime, Tara, me and Jenny
This was my first time going to "Time Out For Women" and it was exactly what I needed. It was very similar to when I went to EFY as a teenager, very spiritually uplifting and fun all in one. I went with my friend Tara(we've known each other since we were 4 & 5), Jenny (our husband's went to Dental School together and we lived just doors from each other), and Jenny's friend (and now mine) from Maryland Jamie. We decided to make a weekend out of it and stayed at The Sorrento in downtown Seattle Friday night. Friday we did a little shopping, went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and then headed to the conference for the first night. The next day was conference all day at Benaroya Halls.

The night before we went (Thurs) I had an especially "sad" night missing my Noah. I think I was watching a show or something, but I just had one of those overwhelming moments of intense grief. I went to sleep that night just sobbing and feeling very much alone and wondering "how am I supposed to live with this everyday?" So this TOFW was very timely for me. Many of the speakers addressed specifically feelings that I had been having and some even regarding the death of a child. The overall theme was "Sweet Assurance" in Christ. And I felt that again and was so filled with love and understanding from my Father in Heaven and the Savior. I was reminded of the many answers that I have had and continue to have regarding Noah and everything surrounding his passing. Hilary Weeks sang as well and she sang a song that she had written for a family that had lost a child. The song is called "Just Let Me Cry". I wish I knew how to add the song here, because it is EXACTLY how I feel sometimes. For my friends and family to better understand me and my "moments", it would be this song.

I am so thankful for inspired programs like these that can come along at just that perfect time and help comfort and lift me in my grief. I am finding a way to keep moving forward, but it will never be the same and I don't think it is supposed to be.
one of my last pictures with Noah. i loved holding him like this for hours.

Isaac and "HIS" table (Mar'09)

I had been eying this cute table and chairs for awhile and when we bought the same one for Jared's office I decided it was time for Isaac to have one as well. And he LOVES it! For the first month or so the second we would come home or he came downstairs he would go running right to his little table. He usually goes from chair to chair and then sits on the table or pushes out all the chairs and hangs out underneath the table. He just loves that it is his very own and just HIS size.

Gabe just being silly for Isaac, pretending that his basketball is an ice cream cone.

YUMMY! (Feb'09)

Isaac is FINALLY happily eating!!!! Isaac has been a little slow on the eating food, but we have turned a corner. He is Mr. Independent. He prefers to feed himself, which usually results in a bath when he is done. Let's just say he is a VERY clean baby these days. :)

.....more please!
